Sales Training & Salespeople are Key to Economic Success

Developing strong salespeopleWhile the economy is on the mend, it still has a long way to go and its full recovery will by helped by salespeople.

Author Antonio Smith recently said in a press release that over the past half-century the economy has been driven not by Congress but by hard-working salepeople like Ray Croc, who took McDonald’s from a small drive-in restaurant to one of the most successful businesses of all time.

CEO of Resolution Systems, Inc., Barrett Riddleberger, said he agrees with Smith’s take.

“Congress is not responsible, nor can it, drive the U.S. to economic recovery or prosperity,” he said. “Salespeople are the ones who drive the economy. Salespeople are the ones who help companies grow, succeed and profit.”

The executive says that because of salespeople’s essential nature to the economy, it is vital to have steps in place to help them succeed.

“That’s why it is so critical for salespeople to have the skills required for success,” he said. “It not only affects them personally, but everyone else in their market, region and in the country. That’s one of the reasons why sales training is on the rise. Smart companies know that investing in sales skill development is vital to their survival and success.”
